Garden Oaks and Oak Forest is an ideal location for those who want to reside close to their activities and jobs yet indulge in the charm of a mature neighborhood. Ideal for residents wanting a short commute home at the end of a day. It is almost certain that the GOOF will continue to be a popular neighborhood for new generations of residents. The original vision from developer ​Frank Sharp's of building livable communities seems to still be as desirable today as it was in the late 1940s.

Obtaining one of the most ample titles of being one of the largest subdivisions in Harris County, this area is known for its diversified old charm leaving residents to enjoy large yards in newly renovated houses. Close to trendy restaurants, breweries, live music and TC Jester Park, this subdivision embodies the art of a small town feel in an oversized area.

“Charming” is a word that comes up a lot in descriptions of the GOOF. Maintaining it’s old neighborhood’s roots with large yards for an inner Houston area has not gone unnoticed. It’s not uncommon to see families out for an evening stroll or children playing with their friends in the front yards.

While many of the area’s original one-story traditional homes, developed in the late 1940’s are still the same from the exterior, many of the interior designs have been either gutted or completely renovated to fit today's residents lifestyles. TC Jester’s Park is treasured amongst residents with a stretch of a 2.5 mile long route filled with a disc golf course, enclosed dog park, and a walking/biking trail this scenic trail is admired by all who swing by.
